The most common reason of protruding abdomen after TT and muscle repair is gaining weight. So the first and most important recommendation will be to lose weight at least 15-20 lbs in order to see a real difference in the visceral fat volume. If after losing the weight you still look protruding most likely the muscle (which is a steak literally) overstretched again and will need tightening again. Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas
Upper abdomen underneath the brests is usually left undertreated after TT or liposuction. It is very likely that agressive liposuction of abdomen, in particular upper abdomen would create significant improvement. It that doesn't work, upper abdominoplasty may be considered. Good luck.
Dear lizanne1,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You can either have liposuction of the area or the extra skin removed from under the breasts. That’s called a reverse tummy tuck and involves a scar under the breasts almost as long as the tummy tuck scar
It is difficult to assess whether this is recurrent diastasis or remaining upper abdomen fat, but likely the problem is remaining upper abdomen fat. Because the blood supply during the tummy tuck comes from the upper abdomen, aggressive liposuction cannot be done at the same time to this upper abdomen area. Often times this leaves some fullness at the upper abdomen which can be addressed with liposuction later on. Hope this helps. Good luck!
You can have liposuction in that area to help remove excess fat. With a tummy tuck, fat has to be left for safety to the skin.
It is difficult to offer possible solutions without knowing more. If the contour is caused by the shape of your ribcage, then it cannot be addressed with traditional plastic surgery. If it is from internal fat then weight loss should improve the contour. If it is from failure of the muscle repair then revision surgery would be able to correct it. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
A physical exam would aid in properly answering your questions. It may be that the upper portion of the text us muscle was not tightened which causes the upper abdomen to be rounded and stick out after an abdominoplasty Best wishes Dr. Taranow
Appears you either have split diastatsis or upper sub dermal abdominal fat or both. Best yo obtain in office ultrasound examination to determine the issues. If just fat lipo suction could improve. If split muscles only revision TT with pattered muscle repair or mesh could help. Best to virtual consult with…
