With the advent ofnew applicators for Zeltiq's popular CoolSculpting system, we nowhave the means to successfully treat smaller and more greatlycontoured areas of the body, such as the knees and calves. WhetherCoolSculpting's cryolipolysis technique would be the best solution inyour case would depend on how much of the disproportion is actuallycaused by fat alone. Cryolipolysis works by lowering the temperatureof fat cells sufficiently to send them into apoptosis (slow celldeath), allowing the body to break them down and gradually eliminatethem through the lymph system. CoolSculpting cannot affect othertissues. So if, for instance, the bulk around your calves is causedby muscle rather than fat, CoolSculpting will not help. For theknees, if there is a fatty bulge on the inside of the knee,CoolSculpting works well. Ankles are a little trickier, but sometimesCoolSculpting can be performed there. Another option is tumescentliposculpture. I can sculpt a much smaller calf and create a taperedankle in many cases. Please consult a board-certified dermatologistto find out if you are a candidate for CoolSculpting.
Dear Landmarksbb1, My practice has done thousands of treatments and the knees maybe 4 patients and none on the calf area. Above the knee the RN can sometimes get a cool mini to attach but the results are minimal. It won't hurt you in any way but it just depends on your cost/expectation level. For the calf area there is no applicator that fits that area and honestly it's usually genetics or something that needs to be surgically addressed in my opinion. Best of Luck!
CoolSculpting can potentially be performed on the knee and calf areas, but it really does take an examination of the patient to determine if they might be a good candidate for the procedure. Sometimes the issue is not due to excess fat in the area and CoolSculpting will only help with fat reduction.
Thankyou for your question. Yes, Coolsculpting can be performed on the knee and calfareas. However, a physician will need to exam you to determine if you will be agood candidate for treatment. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting requires pinchable fat. The knees can be treated in some people but rarely calves. It would be very helpful if you posted a photo in order to get better advice.Best of luck!Dr. Quenby Erickson
Yes! We use it all the time! It takes 2 cycles sometimes- because the fat can be dense- we overlap them or run 2 cycles immediately following each other!
What a great question. Although the knees are not the most common area requested, we have performed hundreds of treatments on the knee area. We have a couple of different hand pieces that work brilliantly for this purpose. Of coarse the patient must be thoroughly evaluated to determine if they are a good candidate. Then, we can determine the exact right applicator to use. You must have pinch-able fat that we can grab onto. if you do have this pinch-able bulge in the knee area, you would be a good candidate. It is important to remember that this must be fat, and not saggy skin or flabby muscle. CoolSculpting yields smooth wonderful results that look natural.Regarding the calf area, again this depends on what is seen and felt in the evaluation. In the majority of cases, the calf is not an area that is often treated, because it is not displaying a pinch-able bulge of excess fatty tissue. knees, inner and outer thighs, bra bulges, banana rolls, upper and lower abs, love handles, arms and the submentum (double chin) are the absolute best area for treating with CoolSculpting. The results we get are truly amazing.
Yes coolsculpting can be performed on the knees . It depends If the applicator can fit the treatment area and the intended treatment area has been examined and determined You are an adequate candidate
We have used coolsculpting in the knee and calf areas with good results. It is important to be evaluated by an experienced provider. Coolsculpting will not work for excessive skin or if the area is too fibrous/muscular. Sometimes the procedure needs to be repeated in order to get the desired results .
I would recommend you to take this to your provider. If there are no responses to the treatment, they shouldn’t have continued after 2nd treatment, since by that time changes are expected to be visible. There were cases when clients do not respond to the treatment then some other options are b...
Coolsculpting melts fat cells only on the area treated with an applicator. One treatment removes around 25% of fat cells in the area treated. It does not affect fat cells elsewhere in your body. To maintain results is all up to you. It does not prevent your body from storing fat cells in the ...
This occurrence has not been linked to Coolsculpting and it is practically impossible to have connections since coolsculpting works on the principle of suction and freezing fat cells. It does not penetrate deeper and it can not affect kidneys. I advise you to make an appointment with your ...
