I had a rhinoplasty 13 months ago and still experience swelling and redness. I have been told this is likely an infection on here. I can see something yellow inside my nostril and have bad smelling fluid when my nose swells with heat or exercise etc. Does this confirm an infection? If so how can it be treated? Many thanks

Hi,
The straight answer is yes, any facial cosmetic procedure can be performed under local anesthesia. However, it's not recommended or wise. A little sedation, such as 5mg of Versed, makes a big difference.

Not to worry. Often the inside of the nose gets crusty after rhinoplasty and can be irritating and impair your breathing. GENTLE cleaning of the nostrils with a Q-tip soaked with hydrogen peroxide will loosen the crusts and you can very carefully and gently moisten the crust...
Hello,
Revision rhinoplasty is certainly more challenging than a primary operation. It should be performed by someone with expertise in Rhinoplasty. In your area, I would recommend Dr. James Ridgway in Seattle.
