Is 19 too young for Botox for non-comestic reasons?

I suffer from TMJ. I get headaches, tinnitus, my jaw pops every time I open my mouth etc, but is manageable. I was looking at possibly getting Botox as a last- resort option, but I am worried I might be too young to start it. One side is bigger than the other because of TMJ, and I know Botox can atrophy these muscles so my jawline can be more symmetrical, another benefit I was also looking at. Primarily though, I am looking for some relief from my TMJ. Is 19 too young to get Masseter botox?

Botox injected into the masseter muscles for TMJ is very effective for all ages, so no, you are not too young to have Botox treatment to relieve your TMJ Syndrome problems.  Make sure to choose your injecting physician most carefully as Botox injection in the TMJ is an advanced technique to get right.  Good luck and be well.

botox can be used at any age if you ahve consent (18 and older)

at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (EmerageSkin roller with anteage AERIFY MD ampules weekly, see link) should be started now to prevent further aging.

For facial rejuvenation,  I would suggest a combination approach of 
1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling
2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors
3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium
4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill
5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting
6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest
7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin
8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months)

Hi there! No, 19 years old is definitely not too young to treat TMJ with Botox. It's actually a good age to address your concerns instead of waiting and the side effects worsen. If you don’t want to do Botox treatment long term, you might want to look into orthognathic surgery as a more permanent fix for your jawline's asymmetry.

You are not too young to receive Botox for TMJ and headaches. The current age limit is over 18 years. Insurance will usually pay for 100 units of Botox for this indication.

There is no contraindication for you to receive Botox massaters. The minimum age to receive Botox determined by Allergan is 18. Botox can definitely improve your TMJ pain and improve your jaw line as an added benefit.
