3 months post op Accutane, I have tingly scalp and hair loss. I'm an 18 year old girl! Is this normal?

I am 3 months off of accutane. My hair was incredibly healthy on accutane, not dry, it was long and beautiful. But a few weeks ago I noticed a lot of hair loss in the shower. I hadn't changed my hair products, I was concerned but brushed it off. Hair loss continued so I cut my hair short. My scalp began to become tingly and the hair loss persisted. I now have a few thin/bald spots. I am active, healthy, have NO history of hairloss, not even men in my family. Why would this be happening?

It is not common to have hair loss off Accutane.  You should consult with your dermatologist and/or an endocrinologist to evaluate for other causes for your hair loss.

This sounds more like alopecia areata than anything related to Accutane, as Accutane is simply 100% of our your system at this point in time. Consult with a physician, but I have a hard time attributing this to Accutane at all, especially since you said your hair was so healthy while on the medication."This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
