Question

I had chin lipo, chin implant, and buccal fat removal March of 2023 and it is now August 2024 and my smile is not the same for me. I did mention it to my surgeon and he told me “it was all in my head” so don’t know what to do. I’m not in pain but I do feel tightness in my chin area when smiling, laughing or even talking. I’m posting pics because I know it’s not the same and I hate taking pictures of me smiling now. Is there something I can do to fix it?It’s mainly my bottom teeth area

Is it possible that your chin implant is too large on front view? You appear to have a wider chin appearance after surgery and if this is associated with tightness, it makes me think that perhaps your chin implant could be a bit too large. Sometimes chin implant replacement is considered. And if you are uncomfortable with your chin implant, you could certainly have it easily removed. And replaced at a later date with a different size. hard to tell from the distorted pictures, but looks like one side of your chin is lower than the other side. Chin implants are also known to cause mentalis strain, which might be what you are experiencing. Your lower teeth show is relatively symmetric from what I can tell. I need to see profile photos to see if an advancement is needed. I would advise removing the implant, and either fat grafting the chin, or genioplasty to reshape/recontour it.
