Do I need to reschedule liposuction after miscarriage?

I have smartlipo360 scheduled in 10 days& 5 days ago I had a medically induced miscarriage. It was an unplanned pregnancy that was only 4-weeks along. I feel I made a mistake telling my surgeon. He wants to charge me 1.5k to reschedule if my blood tests comes back as not the way he wants it. I am curious what results is he concerned about? How does this effect my surgery? Ik it sounds silly, but Im really concerned about losing that 1.5k. Money is tight right now. It feels unfair.

Dear Dynamic212694,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Here's the problem: if you had a medically induced abortion at 4 weeks, there's a chance that not everything came out or worse, that you had a tubal pregnancy. Either of these scenarios would potentially require surgery. That's why you need to wait until the pregnancy test is negative. The money aspect has nothing to do with it. It's all about safety and apparently your surgeon puts safety first.

I recommend patients have in person consultations at which time surgeons policies should be discussed in regards to changing dates, cancellations and revisions.

Many medical practices have handouts for these.

Not disclosing honest medical history to surgeons it’s inappropriate and while what your surgeon is doing sounds a bit much that is the provider you chose.

The decision to perform elective cosmetic surgery depends upon the results of your laboratory test results. Even early pregnancy can result in hormonal changes which may affect your clotting ability, and the amount of blood loss at your recent previous procedure may affect your hematocrit (the percentage of oxygen rich red blood cells in your bloodstream). By not telling your surgeon, you could have placed your health or life in jeopardy.
Surgery is scheduled in advance. If performed in an office setting, staff must be made available, sterilized equipment must be made available, an anesthesiologist must be scheduled. If performed in a surgical facility, in addition, an operating room must be reserved. This costs money, even if the surgery is cancelled! The staff must be paid and the operating room may be empty for the scheduled period of time.
It may sound unfair, but unfortunately your surgeon is correct in his / her actions for your safety.
