I recently consulted with a dr about neck rejuvenation and he suggested smartlipo. I did kybella before and it did nothing except give me a weird texture under my chin. I’m 37/female and my skin is in good shape, but I am concerned that lipo will leave my neck area loose. I don’t want a neck lift, but I want my neck to be smoother. What would be a good route to go?
Answer: Neck liposuction Dear Peaceful696238, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Rejuvenation of the Neck with smart lipo. Hello Thank you for posting your question and photographs. The neck is a common area for women to be uncomfortable with, even at a young age. Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this area. Judging by your photos, Smart Lipo may not be enough to address the laxity in your neck area. Kybella is suitable for submental fat; however, you have a slight laxity in the skin of your neck and visible platysma bands. Since it appears the issue is not only the skin, lasers and other minimally invasive options may not be a one-stop solution. I would advise that you have several in-person consultations so an experienced surgeon can determine what the best solution is. There are several options depending on the surgeon's preferences. A neck lift or treatment of the platysma bands may give you the rejuvenated neck you want. With liposuction and smart lipo, you may get a slight skin retraction but not enough to make you happy. Best of Luck.

Answer: Smart Lipo of neck Smart Laser Lipo of your neck would be under local anesthesia and very safe. It would be a good option for you with the expectation of better definition of your jawline and tightening of the neck. It is imperative that the surgeon does an adequate amount of lasering for best results.

Answer: Neck rejuvenation - will Smart Lipo work? Thanks for posting photos. You best option is a full open neck lift because of the excess skin demonstrated in your posted photos. All the other non or minimal invasive options are a waste of $$s and your time. Expect fee in $10,000+ ranges.

Answer: Neck treatments You already had a procedure that reduced subcutaneous fat on your neck and you didn’t like the outcome. That should tell you that fat removal on your neck isn’t really what you need or is some thing that is helping you. On your picture you have a large skin fold in the middle of your neck indicating significant skin laxicity. You’re not overweight and don’t appear to have a significant problem with subcutaneous fat in this area. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel why don’t you simply schedule consultations with some highly experienced top-notch board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Look for providers who have been in practice for a few decades. You may not want to have a neck lift but that doesn’t make you a candidate for Liposuction. Any problems created with the use of Kybella will not be corrected by using Liposuction. Permanent fat removal is just that it is permanent. Correcting uneven contours due to an uneven fat distribution with Liposuction is very difficult and there is always a chance of making things worse. For you and all patients I recommend multiple in person consultations. For whatever procedure the surgeon recommends I would encourage you to ask them to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for that procedure to get an idea of what average results look like they’re ideal outcomes and results that were less than and to get an understanding of how many of these procedures that provider has performed. I do not recommend Kybella for a multitude of reasons and most plastic surgeons are not fans of the treatment. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
