Hi, When I was around 17, I went under the knife because I was unhappy with the shape of my nose (as most teens are). We told the doctor that I wanted something subtle,so that I wouldn’t look too different. However, he went against my wishes and I ended up with an upturned nose. At some angles, my nose blends into my face. I thought it would look less piggy-ish as it healed and the tip would go down, but it never did. Is there anyway I could make my nose look somewhat similar to how it used to?

Many thanks for your enquiry. Derotation of your nasal tip is certainly feasible through a revision rhinoplasty. These are never simple procedures and in your scenario, you are likely to need grafts to restore your nasal length and to derotate the nasal tip. This should help reduce the appearance of your nostril show but would be best performed by someone with significant experience in revision rhinoplasty.

In general, achieving your "old nose" is not feasible. If you would like to achieve nasal lengthening, this may be possible with "septal extension grating", and an examination would be necessary to determine your candidacy. If you can live with your current nasal appearance, that may be best. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
