Will an anterior prolapse surgery be able to fully remove the vaginal bulge from the bladder or will there always be a bulge there even after surgery? Cystocele grade 2, 39 year old, one delivery with vacuum

Cystocele repairs are done by several techniques and the paravaginal repair techniques are usually the best ones for correcting the bulge. A grade 2 cystocele doesn't bulge out of the vagina, so you would need an exam to see if yours is grade 3 and if anything else is sagging. See your gynecologist or a urogynecologist to get started.

Thank you for your questionTypically, repair of the anterior vagina includes urethral support as well as bladder support. Tears of the supporting tissues(fascia) allow bulging due to the resulting weakness . similar to a tear in the steel belt of a tire causing the tread to bulge. Proper repair of the fascia should eliminate the bulge.

Hello, when the cystocele operation is performed correctly, there will be no bladder coming out of the vagina and therefore no swelling. If there is a rectocele, the posterior wall should be repaired at the same time.
