Facial Lipo, Jowl Fat Pocket, Jowl Lipo, Facelift for fat pockets - what is the best option for removing this? (photos)

F/26/5’7”/115lbs/hispanic I have what seems to be protruding Jowl Fat Pockets. I think, I’ve seen some people add filler to camouflage them. I would like them removed. I do not think they’re in the buccal area. It’s around the corners of my mouth. Are there option for removing this? Specifically facial lipo or could they be cut out? I’ve seen a post on Smart Lipo under local. Are the risks minimal or high given the area is around the mouth? What could be the cost in your area?

These are not fat pockets, not jowls, not buccal fat. They are not successfully eliminated with any lipo regardless of technique or laser assist. You are thinner and it's easier to see your facial muscle anatomy. This bulge represents a confluence of facial muscles in the cheek as it intersects with the muscle around your mouth. I would not advise cutting it out.

Hello, and thank you for your question. A personal evaluation is best to determine the right procedure to address your concerns. If those are fat pockets, you may be a candidate for buccal fat removal. Partial removal of fat pads can help create cheek definition and a slimmer contour in the lower face. You may also have your face assessed to decide which areas can benefit from facial liposuction. 
To determine the best course of action, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can do a proper evaluation of your skin, recommend the best treatment or combination of treatments, and ensure the best possible results.

Based on these photos, the simplest way to approach this problem would be superficial liposuction of fat compartment with fine 1 mm. cannula. This is done in local anesthesia. Good luck.

Fat pickets like that are not uncommon. I have never done surgery for them but the simplest thing would be to try to remove the fat from inside the mouth. Unfortunately it could be one of those hit or miss type of procedures, with the possibility of skin dents. I would not recommend it

Thank you for your questions and photos. Based on these photos, I do believe its your buccal fat pads. These can be removed through the mouth so there is no scar. In our office we would do this under local anesthesia right in the office. I recommend you schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon. They will be able to assess your anatomy in person and come up with a plan that meets your goals.
