Will breast lift and implants cause issues with past nerve pain to reappear?

I’m 62 and lost 60 lbs the past two years. I have a TT and breast lift scheduled in a few months. Over 10 years ago I experienced nerve and blood vessel issues in one breast after a lighting charge went through one arm across my chest and down the other arm. I still have occassional minor pressure pain on that side ( seat belt pressure, etc) If I have a BL and possible implants, will it cause more nerve pain than with normal women?

Your history of a lightning injury is quite unique and suggests that your local nerve pathways may already be sensitized or have some degree of chronic neuropathy. While any breast lift or augmentation involves stretching and manipulating small sensory nerves, having a pre-existing "pressure pain" on that side does increase the risk that surgery could temporarily or permanently aggravate those symptoms. Specifically, adding the weight and volume of an implant can create internal tension that might trigger that familiar nerve discomfort more frequently than it would in someone without your history. If you are already sensitive to seat belt pressure, you might find that a breast lift alone (which removes excess skin and lightens the "load") is actually more comfortable for you than adding the additional weight and pressure of an implant. I would strongly recommend a consultation with a neurologist to document your baseline nerve function, and then discussing a "tissue-only" lift with your surgeon to see if you can achieve your aesthetic goals without the added risk of implant-related nerve compression.
