Should you get the Orbera if you have gallstones?

Thank you for your question. The answer is yes. But here are some considerations. Presumably the gallstones are not causing symptoms. If that is the case, then Orbera balloon can be placed. If gallstones are causing symptoms, then it would be appropriate to address that before the Orbera balloon in case surgery is needed (removal of the gallbladder) and/or should complications from gallstones occur (pancreatitis for example).

You can certainly have an Orbera balloon if you have gallstones. Gallstones are quite common, and in most cases do not cause any problems. However, I would be concerned that you are having periodic gallbladder symptoms related to your stones. Regardless of whether you are pursuing Orbera, I would want to make sure that this issue is addressed so that you do not have a major gallbladder attack. Otherwise, there is no direct relation between gallstones and Orbera. 

Hello Yes you can get the Orbera, The placement of this is not in contact with the vesicle, but in case of  forming more stones and present symptoms you must remove the vesicle.  BlessingsDr. Pablo
