Hi,Vanquish is contraindicated near areas with metal implanted in the body. If you are considering Vanquish in the abdominal area there is some diffusion of the RF to surrounding areas. I agree that you should consult with your orthopaedic surgeon and getting clearance before trying Vanquish to the abdomen. In your situation, Vanquish is definitely contraindicated for the thighs.Warmly,Dr. Liu
Vanquish, a non-invasive (non-surgical) fat reduction device, is safe to use in a patient with joint replacements especially since the areas typically treated do not involve the joint which was replaced. The results from the Vanquish ME are quite remarkable and permanent. Make sure you are a candidate by consulting with your board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in fat reduction and body contouring. You should make sure that you have treatable subcutaneous fat and not simply visceral fat.Best of luck,Suneel Chilukuri, M.D.Houston, TX
