It can be done in both, however you have to be careful when deciding your surgeon and do your homework. At an accredited surgical center you will have a board certified anesthesiologist supervising your anesthesia. In order to have privileges in a surgery center you need to have the the proper training for the procedure, and be a board certified surgeon or board eligible surgeon. "Cosmetic" surgeons and dermatological surgeons are not real plastic surgeons and they can not perform these aesthetic surgeries in real surgical centers or hospitals, so it is always a good idea to ask the surgeon if you have the option to have the surgery done in a recognized surgery center other than the office. In some states, nurse anesthetist can perform your anesthesia without anesthesiologist ( MD) supervision, these will be cheaper but arguably less safe. In summary, check the credentials of your surgeon and also the details of who is performing your anesthesia. A surgery center will always have more resources than a office base center, in the rare cases of emergencies, due to the high volume of cases they perform.
Hi and thanks for the question. The procedure needs to be performed in an accredited/ lisenced surgical facility. This can be a hospital and can also be in an office surgical facility. Some surgeons have a surgical facility that is also their office where they see patients. The key however is making sure the the facility is lisenced to perform general anesthesia and has the appropriate staff to do so. Best of Luck- Dr Hardy
You can do this procedure in the office if they have a surgical center, like our locations. Good luck

I am sorry to hear about your current situation. It may not be a bad idea to have an ultrasound. Sometimes this can localize where the seroma is and a small drain can be placed in the particular location. This will hopefully allow it to collapse on its own. However, if the seroma keeps com...
Although we can, and often do, perform multiple procedures on the same person in the same sitting, we have to think logistically. If a rhinoplasty is performed, we usually recommend that the patient sleep on their back slightly upright which would place pressure on the buttocks. If too much p...
