How long will I continue to heal after my Halo laser facial procedure?

I had the Halo procedure my first time a month ago and at first I didn't really notice a diffrence? But today I woke up to a very smooth appearance and brighter look to my face. So how much longer will I continue to heal after my procedure because some areas of my face are still tender?

It depends how intense your treatment was. Your face shouldn't be as tender anymore and it's always good to check in with your treating physician. Make sure you are hydrating your skin and protecting it with a broad spectrum sunblock.

The changes induced by Halo are really in two types. The most noticeable differences early are usually due to the pigmentary improvement created by the superficial 2940 ablative wavelength. The secondary changes that you are referring to take longer to complete. These changes are due to the 1470 non-ablative wavelength which is deeper penetrating. This wavelength stimulates new collagen production, a process which takes several months to complete. You should be entering into the time when the best results are seen with Halo. It is usually 1-2 months after the procedure when patients really see the fruits of the treatment. Enjoy!

Really depends on many factors including your skin type, but most importantly the density of the erbium component. Passes, depth, all play a role. The rate limiting factor usually is the skin colour changes from the erbium laser. In some skin types, it can take 2-3 months, however bleaching HQ creams from your specialist can help. The Non ablative component works over 2-4 months to stimulate collagen. This wavelength heals up very quickly, - it's the superficial erbium laser that is the rate limiting factor.
