I need to get a tooth implant but I'm in the middle of my Invisalign treatment. Is this OK?

There are many times when I will place or have placed a dental implant during invisalign treatment.   In most instances it is fine to place the implant (the titanium screw that replaces the lost tooth's root)  What you have to discuss with your dentist is the expected movement of the adjacent teeth next to the missing molar.  If there is movement planned that will bodily move the roots of the adjacent teeth than it may be best to wait for the invisalign movement to be completed.  If, however, there is no bodily movement of the adjacent teeth toward the implant site then placing the implant during treatment is a great option.  As there is a healing period after implant placement that needs to be completed prior to restoration of an abutment and crown.  And this may be the same time needed to fiish your invisalign treatment.Good luck.

The Invisalign treatment should be completed before placing any implants.This is because Invisalign can modify the space, so that the implant can be properly fitted

At this time, it is best to discuss this with your orthodontist and the provider placing the implant.  There are many factors that contribute to the timing of placing an implant.
