I am 24; Upper spacing, lower crowding, buck teeth overjet, gap tooth, as show in the pictures. Whats better for me Invisalign or braces? I am worried about protruding gums and tipping effect of teeth with Invisalign. Eating some foods such as nuts and corn on the cob can damage braces and wires so i am worried about this. I just want to know what would be best for my teeth movement, i dont care so much about visuals and being invisible, i just want the best result. What is your advise?
Answer: Space Closure with Invisalign It's difficult to say for sure without full diagnostic records, but an orthodontist experienced in Invisalign should be able to correct your spacing without the "tipping" effect you are concerned about. Invisalign's newest generation product does a very good job of maintaining adequate torque during space closure when the ClinChek is set up appropriately. The biggest advantages of Invisalign are associated with the fact that the trays are removable: No worries when eating, no real possibility of breakage or need for unscheduled appointments, and longer intervals between appointments. At the same time, being a removable appliance is Invisalign's biggest disadvantage: The system only works if you're wearing the aligners as directed. Be sure to discuss your concerns with your orthodontist. He or she should be able to discuss the pros/cons of each system, and honest about what sort of results you should expect. Hope this helps!Dr. G

Answer: Invisalign Invisalign treatment would likely be a good option for you. A lot of cases that are corrected with traditional braces can also be corrected very nicely with Invisalign. Your orthodontist may prescribe rubber band wear to go along with your Invisalign treatment.

Answer: Any suggestions on upper spacing, lower crowding, buck teeth overjet, gap tooth? Both Invisalign and traditional braces will be able to get you to the result that you want. I would recommend a consultation with an orthdontist that provides both treatments and can give you cost estimates for both. Since you don't care much about visuals, traditional orthodontics may be more cost effective. The orthodontist should be able to address all of your questions and concerns at your initial consultation.
