How to fix lateral incisor length discrepancy caused by braces? (photos)

Question

I've been wearing braces for 9 months. After shifting my top teeth to far right my orthodontist is now trying to shift them left via to elastic bands (see pic). After wearing them for 2 weeks straight my left lateral incisor has become longer than the right and my bite is still not much better. I could really use some help understanding how to fix this length discrepancy and how to better fix the bite since these elastic bands seem to have made everything worse.

Hi DMarie801, You don't have to worry, the elastic band is to help correct your teeth centreline. If there is a length discrepancy, it can be easily adjusted by the orthodontist. He or she will probably address it at a later time.

HelloI understand your frustration., but the images are not sufficent for a proper diagnosis and treatment recommendation. Your particular situation requires a live evaluation.  I know this does not answer your question but anything I contribute would be inappropriate.  These vertical issues sometimes can be addressed with modified rubber band wear or adjusting the main archwires or using temporary anchorage devices or any combination of the above mentioned options. You can ask your orthodontist what he or she suggest.   Have a great weekend.
