Hello,Aligner treatment can be quite beneficial and rewarding if used in the proper cases. There are certain orthodontic issues that are not addressed well with aligners and require fixed appliances (braces). Without being able to personally examine your alignment and occlusion (bite) it is difficult to ascertain if the progress is within the norm. It is also dependent on the total number of aligners designed. If there is small movement and a relatively large number of aligners were designed, each aligner will make very subtle changes and it will take longer to see changes. You need discuss this with your orthodontist. I hope that this helped. Happy New Year.Dr. Y
Hello,Many young adults like yourself, and individuals much older, under orthodontic treatment everyday. The question is not whether it is possible, but what treatment options would serve you best and give you the results that you desire while maintaining a healthy bite and tooth position. It sometimes requires braces and sometimes Invisalign will suffice. To get answers to these questions would require you to make a consult appointment with an Orthodontist so he or she can review with you all the treatment options that are available to you. Good luck.
HelloI understand your frustration., but the images are not sufficent for a proper diagnosis and treatment recommendation. Your particular situation requires a live evaluation. I know this does not answer your question but anything I contribute would be inappropriate. These vertical issues sometimes can be addressed with modified rubber band wear or adjusting the main archwires or using temporary anchorage devices or any combination of the above mentioned options. You can ask your orthodontist what he or she suggest. Have a great weekend.
HelloUnfortunately, your photos are hard to diagnose from. It is extremely difficult to tell what your bite and alignment looks like. In general, overbite correction in adults is more complicated than in growing individuals, and a correct initial diagnosis and treatment plan are very crucial. You may want to ask your current orthodontist (or 2nd opinion) as to your options prior to removing the braces. This may involve lengthier and more invasive treatment options. But, getting the appropriate information can only help you make the right decision for your situation. Have a great holiday season.
HelloI am sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your Invisalign treatment. First, without proper orthodontic records it will be impossible for any orthodontist to recommend treatment alternatives. In general, if you have flaring of the anterior teeth you would require sufficient space to be able to move the front teeth back. Space is either already present at the start of treatment or needs to be created. Space creation is typically attained either by expansion, extraction or interproximal reduction (minimal filing of the sides of the teeth). Without the space the amount of correction is quite limited. The type of space regaining treatment chosen depends on the severity of any crowding that may be present, whether bite correction is also desired and the amount of movement desired on the front teeth to reduce the fullness. I know this is a mouthful but without proper records it is hard to be specific. Hope this helps.
