Can I take doxycycline after implant surgery?

Just had reconstructive breast surgery (First operation had major problems due to scar tissue.) That said, because of radiation and a first time fail, I asked my PS about anti-biotics. She does not want to prescribe. I'm quite concerned about infection and failure, so I scrounged around the house to see if I had any---and I do---a full course of doxycycline. Can I take this? I've never had a problem with doxy before.

It seems to be a late infection of the implant. You have to consult your surgeon for further evaluation...Best of luck

:) You really will need to post some pictures but I am disheartened that your surgeon is not able to give you a satisfactory explanation. It may be difficult but I would try and get an in person consultation with another plastic surgeon for a second opinion.  Nobody likes to fix another...

I've had patients go through TSA with breast tissue expanders and drains, and they had no issues. I wrote them a doctor's note ahead of time as a precaution, but it wasn't necessary. My only worry would be that in case of an infection (which can sometimes happen even though you are on...
