What would work better for me, UltraShape vs. CoolSculpting?

Question

I am a 43 year old 113 lb., 5'4", fit female who wishes to get rid of my abdominal fat. I wish to lose 2-3 inches in abdominal circumference and can definitely pinch my fat to make a roll. Which procedure would be better for me: Ultrashape or Coolsculpting?

Both CoolSculpting and UltraShape can work well to reduce abdominal fat
in the right candidate. CoolSculpting works by freezing fat cells, while
UltraShape uses targeted ultrasound energy to destroy them. Ultimately, the
device used doesn’t matter as much as the skill of the doctor performing the
treatment, though CoolSculpting is more efficient in terms of time, as one treatment
reduces the area by 25% - 30% if combined with massage and Ultrashape usually
requires 2 -3 treatments for the same percent fat loss. CoolSculpting though is
only effective if the fat is loose enough from the body to be suctioned into
the cup that freezes it.  So which is
more effective depends on the area and type of fat.  I recommend visiting a board-certified
dermatologist with experience with both devices to find the best treatment plan
for you.

I use both Ultrashape and CoolSculpting in my practice, as well as other non-invasive body contouring devices and techniques.  The most important factor in giving a recommendation is the in-person physical assessment to determine which treatment modality would be best for each individual patient.  Given your description, either Ultrashape or CoolSculpting could potentially fulfill your needs OR neither could be appropriate for you. I often combine ultrashape with coolsculpting and zwave to get the best results, but they still do not compare to body sculpting liposuction where you can contour and shape the entire body and use fat to contour.  financially, you need to do a lot of non invasive treatments to get results, which is more expensive in the long term I suggest you see an expert for an evaluation. All patients see me in consultation so that I can examine them and determine which of the two procedures, CoolSculpting or Ultrashape, is best suited for their physique. I use templates to measure which applicators can be used on different body sites. CoolSculpting has evolved into a sculpting process by overlapping multiple applicators to reduce the fat optimally.  However, some body sites aren't amenable to have the CoolSculpting applicator fit snugly and in these cases Ultrashape may be able to treat the area better. CoolSculpting may need one or two treatments, sometimes more, to provide a good result in good candidates, whereas Ultrashape is designed to be done as a series of three treatments. Visible effects may show more quickly after Ultrashape than with CoolSculpting because there is some swelling after CoolSculpting that disguises the fat loss.  Ultrashape is relatively painless, and CoolSculpting has a weird uncomfortable sensation the first five minutes until the fat becomes frozen and then the rest of the hour's cycle is usually very comfortable.

Both UltraShape and CoolSculpting are effective, noninvasive means of permanently eliminating stubborn fat. I happen to prefer UltraShape because it's fast and has absolutely no downtime. UltraShape zaps fat with pulses of ultrasound energy. The fat cells are instantly vaporized and the body then gradually eliminates them over the next 1.5 to 2 months. Some of your results may be visible after only two weeks. You will probably need at least three sessions, but each session only lasts from 15 to 45 minutes. A board-certified dermatologist will be able to evaluate you to see if you are a candidate for UltraShape.

From your description, it sounds like you could be a candidate for either CoolSculpting or UltraShape. These are both noninvasive techniques for permanently eliminating stubborn pockets of fat that cannot be removed through diet and exercise because they are genetically determined. CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis to kill fat cells, which means it basically lowers the temperature of fat cells until they begin to destruct. UltraShape uses pulsed ultrasound energy to destroy fat cells. It doesn't leave any marks or reddening, so if it's important to you to hit the gym in just a sports bra right after your treatment, UltraShape might be your best choice. I also believe that ultra shape is a great procedure as there is no downtime or pain. We have being doing  a lot of treatments in our office with very good outcomes.You also have to watch your diet as well while you are doing these procedures. It works best when you diet and exercise.

UltraShape uses nonthermal focused, pulsed ultrasound to painlessly destroy fat whereas, CoolSculpt uses freezing of the tissues to decrease fat.  There is no inflammation with UltraShape and results can be seen as soon as two weeks.  The UltraShape treatments are performed in a series of three performed every other week.
