Juvederm placed in only my lips. Had dental block as well. It's day 5 and my cheeks and face are still swollen

If the swelling is in the lips, it's likely due to Juvederm.  5 days is very early.  If the swelling is on the cheek areas where the block was placed, then it's not due to Juvederm.If after 2 weeks problems persist, best to call the doctor's office.

It can take up to 2 weeks for the swelling to go down. If you are still unhappy after, please see your doctor and have the area reversed.  Venus legacy, oral diuretics/ prednisone / NSAIDs can help.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The dental block wears off in a few hours and does not cause facial swelling that is long term. The filler product used may cause swelling that should subside in a few days or in some individuals by a week or so.

Hello lnewton6907,Sorry to hear about your swelling.  Without a picture it is difficult to say what is taking place.  Right next to the nerve that is blocked is a blood vessel.  If that were damaged it could have let to bleeding and the swelling.  I would recommend you follow up with your injector since this is the first time it has happened to you so you can have an in person evaluation.  I hope this helps and good luck.
