How can I get rid of hyperpigmentation around mouth? (photos)

Question

I got laser hair removal on my upper lip a few times a while back (couple years ago) and I think it may have been the cause of this dark ring around my mouth. I was wondering if there is any way I can get rid of it. I have tried bleaching cream from the dermatolgist twice but it overly dries out my skin and looks bad for a few days after.

Hyperpigmentation is a difficult thing to treat in general. However, significant improvement can be seen with a combination of treatments including Lasers, Chemical Peels, Microneedling, and at home medical grade skin care products. This is either PIH or melasma. Both are hard to treat. It is possible that 1064 lasers with low fluence can improve the problem. Chemical peels are another option. I have no experience with PRP for this purpose but some are using it for this.
