Dear Bella, Thank you for posting your interesting question and congratulations on having your surgery! I do not believe that Endermology is necessary for you to have a great outcome. I recommend that you continue a healthy lifestyle and to follow up with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who will make the appropriate recommendations for your scar. Best wishes, Dr. Richard Swift
My question would be why you believe this would be necessary and/or effective. It would result in stretching out of the scar so, even if there was a potential efficacy, you would have to balance that against the scarring.
This is an important question. The tissues are suctioned up and put on stretch with this procedure, so doing it too soon after surgery will pull on you scar and could cause it to thicken or widen. It could also stretch the skin that you have just tightened which seems a little counter productive. If you must have a treatment, wait at least 6 to 12 months. It is probably ok to treat over a scar, but I am not sure what it will accomplish. If you are trying to additionally tighten skin of the abdomen, a different modality, such as ThermiSmooth 250 might be a better choice. Again I would recommend waiting 6 to 12 months to allow your tissue to be well into the healing phase.Generally the effects of Endermologie come from trauma to the tissues with swelling and are short lived. In addition, after a tummy tuck you may not need any additional smoothing. If you are doing Endermologie to help with fibromyalgia, treat other areas that were not operated and skip the abdomen (and be careful about lying on your abdomen too soon after surgery to be treated with any modality).
Given the location of the tattoo it may be involved in the most lateral aspect of the incision. Your physician should have discussed how it may be altered as a result of the surgery but if it was not raised in discussion I would notify the surgeon of your wishes and the markings may be able to...
Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear of your belly button issue. Without a photograph or in-person examination it is difficult to determine the extent of loss of your belly button. Occasionally only bruising develops and much of the belly button is intact, in others,...
Unfortunately, to perform a safe surgery and a safe, accredited center, it is very costly. Not only is there the surgeon fee, as well, there is operating room fee which includes the service of preoperative nurses, OR nurses, recovery room nurses, etc. There is the cost of the expensive...
