Thank you for your question about healing after salicylic acid treatment. The skin is in a very fragile state immediately after a peel. It is not uncommon to sometimes have an area or two that becomes irritated or raw, especially if you peel rather than trim the dead skin away. To avoid hyperpigmentation or scarring it is important that you keep these areas moist with Aquaphor or Vaseline...or any post-procedure ointments your provider may have recommended. Also, do not pick or scrub these areas, and avoid the sun. If you notice any discharge from the area, you need to contact your provider. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Apply Plato's Scar Serum followed by Melarase AM and Melarase PM to the area to prevent scarring of the skin on the nose. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
There is always a possibility of scarring when you have a burn. Please only allow a professional to administer any type of chemical peels. Apply an antibiotic cream and protect it from the sun and consult with a dermatologist
Dark discoloration after a chemical peel burn is common. I would start with Melarase AM, Melarase PM, Melapads, and Replenish creams to help with the discoloration. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
Melarase PM and Elevase Moisture Booster can help soothe your skin and minimize unwanted skin discoloration.Best,Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
I would use Elevase Moisture Booster on the areas twice daily and make sure there is no inadvertent sun exposure that may cause it to pigment. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
