Hello! I have been on rogaine and oral finasteride for 20 years and recently have noticed some loss, some of which may be from a supplement I took for a couple of months. Recently, I switched to a topical finasteride combined with 8% minoxidil and have been pleased with the results. Nutrafol has come recommended from a friend of mine as well. Do you think it would be smart to add this to the regimen?
Answer: Hair loss treatment If you are not satisfied with the results of your current treatment you may be a candidate for SmartGraft. This hair loss treatment transfers individual grafts from the donor site to the areas needed. It is performed under local anesthetic with minimal down time. Most patients report little to no pain. There are no incisions, no stitches, and no linear scar. Some results can be seen immediately with full results after nine months.

Answer: Hair loss — spironolactone/finesteride, PRP/acell/exosomes, emeragecosmetics Restorsea spray, Viviscal, anteageMD stem cells add theradome (see link) and use oral viviscal and topical restorsea with your existing regimen. You need a formal evaluation to see what type of hair loss you may have. when you have hairless its best to do a full hormonal workup for internal optimization plus scalp biopsies or scrapings to rule out any stress related, inflammatory, autoimmune or infectious causes of hair loss. In general most people with early hair loss have telogen (stress related) and/or androgenetic (normal aging) and both can be treated with in office treatments like steroid injections, PRP/acell, Exosomes and at home treatments like oral medications, oral vitamins like Viviscal, topical exfoliating sprays like Restorsea, and weekly growth factors like anteagemd. See an expert for an evaluation. If hair loss is significant it may requires hair transplant (follicular unit translation).

Answer: Should I start Nutrafol? I am personally not a fan of throwing everything possible at hair loss without an organized plan in place. First, we have no clear idea why you recently lost hair. We need to know. I need to know in order to answer your question and you need to know in order to determine what treatment to take. Why is your hair suddenly changing? If it’s due to a supplement you took the treatment is easy: you stop the supplement. If the cause of your hair loss now is from a scalp condition like lichen planopilaris or folliculitis decalvans then switching to topical finasteride and adding Nutrafol is not going to help much and is not the way to go - you need to treat the scalp condition properly. If the cause of your hair loss now is from a thyroid condition, stress, or low iron level then switching to topical finasteride and adding Nutrafol is not going to help much and is not the way to go - you need to address the thyroid condition, stress or low iron properly. So you need a full examination and you may need some blood tests. If you have switched to topical finasteride and 8 % minoxidil, we need to figure out how well topical finasteride and minoxidil are going to work and we need to give that 4-6 months. If you add Nutafol now, you’ll have no idea if any improvements are from a) Nutrafol b) the topical finasteride/minoxidil or c) some other scalp condition becoming quiet or a telogen effluvium resolving. There is endless cycles of confusion in treating hair loss and their need not be. An organized approach together with a good dose of patience goes a long way to figuring out the cause of hair loss and remedying the situation.
