Is it okay to use Skinceuticals Epidermal Repair cream a couple of hours after a microneedling treatment?

Allow your skin to heal naturally for 24 hours post treatment. You may find your skin feels drier and starts to flake around day 3 post treatment, this is when you can use the epidermal repair for some added nourishment and moisture. 
Remember to always use a spf post treatment.

Thanks for your inquiry. Epidermal Repair is a great product to use on any post procedure skin. This product is especially great when the skin has started to heal and you have entered the itchy/dry phase. Right after the procedure your provider should be applying either PRP or Hylauronic acid to ensure that skin has enough heat and moisture. It is best to allow your skin to soak up whatever is put on it for an extended amount of time before adding in additional products. I would check with your provider if you have any questions.

After microneedling and any other medical procedure you should follow the doctor's recommendation.
In my experience because the procedure will create small openings in the skin you should not apply any topical creams for at least 2-3 hours. Creams with retin A, glycolic acid, vitamin C are not recommended for at least 4-5 days after microneedling. The most important product to use afterwards is a good quality sun block with physical protection against UVB and UVA, not to be confused with a sun block with chemical protection.

Epidermal Repair can be used in post care BUT what you really want is the heat and inflammation from the procedure. So I tell patients to use it in targeted areas only OR if they are extremely itchy and find they are scratching at their skin. If your skin looks and feels good, leave it alone and don't apply it. It is very important that anything you put on the skin after micro-needling has been specifically tested and proven to be safe to use after this procedure. Micro-needling creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin which enhance penetration of topical serums and medications, dramatically increasing their effectiveness. Up to 80% of product can penetrate the skin compared to 7 to 10% with normal topical application. 
In my office, we use the ProCell Therapies system which combines motorized micro-needling with concentrated human growth factor serums made from human stem cells. This serum is made specifically for this treatment. Our patients also use a growth factor serum at home after the office treatment.
