Totally erasing a mature scar (defined as any scar older than 12 weeks) is extremely unlikely using an treatment or combination of modalities currently available. Sorry. However, a 60-80% overall improvement in appearance is possible.
Professionally performed manual microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling)accompanied by the application of Rx strength pigment enhanciers can work well for treating scars with superficial surface color and textural irregularities.
Be wary if offered expensive gizmo treatments, such as fraxel lasers and RF treatments, as the hard science to back up the use of these "bells and whistles" lags well behind the heavy marketing hype and social media buzz to promote them.
