Hello. I hope it’s fine to ask since there is basically no information online about it but are such surgeries to have either monolids as someone who is white but already has pretty hooded eyelids or epicanthic folds that is the fold over inner eye corner i’m not sure if i’m getting the name right in english my apologies. I know these surgeries probably are super rare since I noticed mostly people who have these features want the other way round but to me such low eyelids exposure eyes look beautiful and mysterious and just up to my desires. Is it even something that achievable or basically no way to safely look for it (especially in Europe)? Sorry for mistakes if any are here. All the best.

Thank you for the question, and your English is perfectly clear. As an oculoplastic surgeon, I can tell you that creating an epicanthal fold is uncommon and I would approach it with caution. The fold is a skin web over the inner corner of the eye, and creating one means deliberately tightening skin across that corner. This is the reverse of epicanthoplasty, which is the procedure I perform far more often. The results are less predictable, the scar can be visible or webbed, and it can affect the tear drainage system at the inner corner if it is done incorrectly. Reducing the visible upper eyelid, often called a monolid look, is also not something I would recommend in someone who already has hooded lids, since the goal of eyelid surgery is to keep the eye open and healthy. Lowering the lid or removing the crease can lead to dry eye, incomplete blink, and difficulty with vision. A safer way to explore the look is to discuss it with a board certified oculoplastic surgeon who can examine your eyelid position, brow, and inner corner anatomy in person, and who will tell you honestly whether any version of this is safe for you. Many surgeons will decline, and that is a reasonable answer.
