What can be done to fix the indented stretched scars and bald spots from browlift? (Photos)

Question

Hi, I had browlift with internal sutures 7 months ago. I have two scars, bald patches which are indented in my scalp. They dip inward and are really sensitive to touch all around. After staples were pulled out, they bled and opened some. Now the scar on the right is large. It's shiny and I can't see any hair follicles. To make it worse, it seems like the stretched incisions have caused my forehead to settle with small lines and wrinkles. Is there anything I can do to at least fix these scars?

You should be able to have the scars removed and resutured.  Sometimes during the initial surgery there can be some swelling and tension which can pull the scar apart resulting in a bald spot.  Much smaller procedure to just take out the scar so should do well.

Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. There are non-surgical techniques available to you to reduce the scars.

It appears you had an open browlift from the pictures you provided.  While crusting is still present, I would continue placing antibiotic ointment until all crusting ceases.  At that point, you may try scar gels to soften the scar or steroid injections.  If after a year they are no better, consider scar revision surgery. Best of luck!

Scars on the scalp can be improved through a scar revision procedure. The incisions can be beveled, so that the surrounding hair will grow through the middle of the scar making it less apparent.   In areas where there is significant hair loss, transplant of new hair to the area can be performed to restore what was lost.   Best regards
