Why does my SMP (Scalp Pigmentation) ink keep fading away?

I have SMP (Scalp Pigmentation) done at the area where I have my hair transplanted. But it fading rapidly, in 3 months almost all gone. I have read it’s because my immune system that pushed the ink out. My question is how can I stop this from happening? Is it wise to keep getting a touch up every 4-5 months if my body just won’t take the ink pernamently?

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  It may depend on the quality of the SMP and the technique.

SMP can fade if the type of ink/pigment is compromised, or if the technician is going super shallow. Please discuss with your doctor if you have any skin condition.

Fading ink could be a reflection of the type of pigments used by the SMP team.  We use fully organic pigments that are permanent. If the immune system takes it away, it is usually in the first month and then we react differently to the process to assure that it does not happen again.
