I had a deep plane facelift three years ago by a board certified provider. I don't smoke, and still, I developed a hematoma and necrosis that has left some scarring. Is it possible to hide these scars with another facelift, skin grafting, or possibly some other treatment?
Answer: Scars on Face -- Vascular Lasers (Vbeam) / Fractional Laser (Co2, Halo, Fraxel) / emeragecosmetics AERIFY/ENLIGHTEN/COSMELAN this can be improved with laser and medical tattooing. dermarolling and peels like ENLIGHTEN should be used now (see link). if you want to do a surgical revision this can also be done but is more aggressive. Scars need aerify, enlighten, or Cosmelan peels post surgery. Vivatia foam, Restorsea 10x, skinceuticals phyto +, Cosmelan 2 cream, and reve skin fortified bleaching cream all help. there are many options for hypertrophic/red/discolored scars: 1. vascular lasers (yellow laser, vbeam, excel v) 2. fractional lasers (fraxel, erbium, co2) 3. microneedling/PRP 4. silicone based scar gels with growth factors 5. excision +/- radiation see an expert Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Plasma Pixilation can be done to bring color to the white scar Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Professional Microneedling Plus Topical Tyrosine & Lanatoprost For Promoting Pigment Production In Hypopigmented Scars Consider repigmenting the area via the use of professional microneedling supplemented by the application of prescription strength pigment promoting agents topical tyrosine and lanatoprost. Usually about three to four treatment sessions at least six weeks apart are required to achieve optimal results this way. Make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist or other core aesthetic physician. Ask to see personal befores and afters before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.
