Yes, it is very rare and associated with textured implants. Typically happens when the capsule breaks away from the surrounding tissues, and then a hematoma or seroma forms between the initial capsule and your body tissues. The hematoma resorbs itself but forms another capsule.

Yes, a double capsule is extremely rare. Typically is happens with textured implants where the capsule breaks aways from the surrounding tissue and then something like a hematoma forms in that space. The hematoma resolves itself but forms another capsule. Hope this helps -- Dr. Nazarian

It is probably due to shearing of the capsule away from the surrounding tissues, with the subsequent formation of a hematoma or seroma between the initial capsule and your body tissues.  As time goes on, the hematoma organizes and resorbs forming another capsule. Best of luck!
