How often do veneers need replacing and are they all replaced at the same time or is it as and when they break?
Answer: How often do veneers need replacing? Veneer cases can last anywhere from 10 to 20 years with the new stronger porcelains and bonding materials. In certain instances we may be able to just replace the selected veneers that require replacing, resulting in a conservative and excellent aesthetic result.

Answer: How often do Veneers need replacing? There is no expiration date or arbitrary time that states that veneers need to be replaced. With the advancement of bonding agents and cements over the past decade, there may never be a reason for the work to be redone. The best advise for anyone considering this procedure is to seek out an expert who has great reviews, and a lot of experience placing veneers. One of the biggest factors influencing the longevity for your veneers is insuring that they fit perfectly, and that they can function in your mouth. Veneers with open margins, and ones that don't fit properly with your bite won't last as long. Having good hygiene and wearing a nightguard will also help increase the lifespan of veneers. I recommend that you should see the dentist for a professional cleaning once every 4 months. This will help ensure you have healthy gums, and minimize any recession which can contribute to needing your veneers replaced.

Answer: How long veneers last.
This is a question that's often asked and there is no set answer to it. There are so many variables that it's difficult to attach a fixed number to it. If the veneers are made well and placed properly, 10 years would be a reasonable life expectancy, provided you keep your mouth healthy and have regular checkups and cleanings. Occasionally a veneer may come off which can be re-attached or they may break but not all need to be replaced.

Answer: Veneer replacement
There are many varying factors. What ceramic material was used? What type of occlusion do you have? How much tooth structure was removed initially? How good is your home care oral hygiene and are you maintaining regular dental visits? In general with favorable conditions, the failure rate for veneers is low within the first 10-15 years.

Answer: How Often Do Veneers Need Replacing?
This is an excellent question that we get very often! The average lifespan of porcelain veneers (if done properly by a trained cosmetic dentist that uses a high quality lab) is anywhere from 10-15 years. With that said, the patient has a great deal to do with how long their veneers last. It's important to still maintain regular cleanings and check-ups (at least every 6 months), get regular x-rays to make sure the teeth and gums are healthy, and to wear a night-guard while sleeping to protect the beautiful porcelain veneers. Make sure you also see a dentist and hygienist that know how to offer proper care and cleanings after your veneers are done. We generally recommend special electric Rotodent toothbrushes that are gentle on your new veneers (some electric toothbrushes like Sonicare cause abrasions to the porcelain). The most important thing is that you see a cosmetic dentist that is properly trained in placing veneers and taking your occlusion (bite) into consideration. If they place the veneers incorrectly and your bite is off, it can affect speech, the longevity of the veneers, cause headaches/pain, and cause chipping and breaking prematurely. If veneers are done correctly by a properly trained dentist, they can last even longer than the average lifespan. If you have had your veneers longer than 10-15 years and decide to replace them, have a consultation with a cosmetic dentist to see how many need to be replaced. Typically, you will want them replaced at the same time, so the shade matches and looks consistent. Best wishes!!
