Of course you can! Veneers are performed for many different reasons. Try whitening first. If you like the color a cosmetic dentist can slightly reshape them for you. If this does not satisfy your aesthetic expectations, then consider veneers. Absolutely.  Veneers can be used to accomplish a number of different improvements to a smile.  Your idea of collecting photos that depict "how I want my teeth" ,as you say, is very helpful.  Find a dentist with lots of experience with cosmetic smile makeovers and schedule a consult visit to share your expectations, show pictures and discuss if this is realistic for YOU.  An experienced dentist should be able to guide you through options after listening to your goals and looking at your teeth.  The ultimate goal should be natural-looking teeth that are in harmony with your face and coloring.  And obviously if you're only doing 4 teeth on top and bottom, the shade match is critical to maintain a natural appearance.

The key in your case is likely to be good communication. While I don't do it often, yours is a good case for esthetic imaging. Shortening teeth isn't reversible so you need to have it well planned...start with whitening of course.

2. NO I would not do them for the aesthetic concerns your describe.

Quite honestly, simple recontouring and reshaping of the incisors enamel might be able to accomplish the "smaller, rounder" look you want and some teeth whitening if the enamel is  healthy.

Yes, you can have veneers. Yours is a good case to have a computer simulation done before you start the work. Then you can judge how much change you want to really be happy. If you want to go a lot lighter, you may need to do more than four teeth, so keep that in mind.

It always matters what condition your teeth are in before you start, so if you think there could be issues, have that checked first, so you know exactly what your options are.

Veneers give the most control and finesse of the final look, but you may be able to have aesthetic re-shaping done to give a more rounded look. There are some great whitening options, including Deep Bleaching or Kor whitening.

Veneers can straighten crooked teeth, but also fill in gaps between teeth, brighten the color, change the shape, alter the length, and other improvements.  But let us talk about YOUR situation.  If you whiten only four teeth on top and four on bottom, they may stand out like a white picket fence, or like four "Chiclets."  Veneers are added on top of teeth, so if you feel your teeth are already too long, both top and bottom teeth will have to be ground down shorter before placement of the shorter veneers.  ALTERNATIVE:  A cosmetic dentist can artistically re-contour those long teeth and round the corners with minimal and painless grinding (as in no shots), and ZOOM Whitening will brighten all your teeth without making just four teeth look strange with the others

The pics you show are someone with Crowns on their teeth. The mere fact that I can tell they are crowns, means that they are NOT great esthetically! A perfect Veneer or Crown should look very natural, and someone should NOT be able to tell that they are "fake". The short answer to your question is YES, you can have Veneers on straight teeth. HOWEVER, seek out a very experienced Cosmetic Dentist that knows what he's doing and that uses a great Cosmetic Laboratory.

i strongly believe that even tough  patients have straight teeth or they do ortho treatment, most of the time when we are at the end of a dental treatment this one has to be finalize with estethic consideration consequently esthetic treatment....but in your case based of what i see in the pics your teeth are cover by crowns. so if you dont like shape and colour the only way is re do crowns. you can have veneers.

but before remove everything i will do digital smile design and based on this diagnostic tool ill see which would be the ideal postion and lenght and widths of your teeth based on the smile line you have
