Will Porcelain Veneers correct the alignment of my teeth and lips? (photos)

Thanks for providing the photos.  Veneers certainly can realign your midline to center and create a fuller, whiter smile.  I suggest that you seek an excellent cosmetic dentist that is capable of delivering the results that you are seeking.  I would recommend emax crowns for the anterior teeth along with zirconia crowns for any posterior teeth that you may choose to beautify.  Your veneers should last 25 plus years, when done right and maintained properly with good oral hygiene.  You should also make sure that your dentist offers some sort of warranty for hi/her work.  I generally offer a 10 year warranty on all cosmetic restorations (including veneers, crowns, inlays, and onlays).  Veneers are what I do, so "Follow" me if you have more questions about them.Sarah Thompson, DMD

Thank you for your question and for providing photos. It is excellent that you have high standards for your aesthetics and beauty. After reviewing your photos, you have a great starting point. I think your smile right now is very much acceptable, but if some of the minor imperfections bother you there are options to enhance your smile. I agree that slight improvements to the midline, vertical alignment, and width of your smile could help to support the harmony of your facial features. I typically evaluate a patients smile in relationship to their overall beauty. In evaluating your facial aesthetics, I notice you have beautiful eyes but your smile is slightly narrow in comparison. Improving the width of your smile could be a great enhancement to the symmetry of your face. There are a couple ways this may be done. One way is with porcelain veneers, and the other is with minor recontouring of the teeth followed by Invisalign. Both of these options have benefits and disadvantages which are specific to each patient. Have a consult with a aesthetic dentist in your area which has a renowned reputation in these areas. An aesthetic dentist should be able to show you before and after pictures of some of their cases, as well as a model of what they propose for you before any work is done. If you want "a movie star smile", white, straight teeth, then porcelain veneers are certainly a great way to do that.  Porcelain veneers can correct crooked teeth, discolored teeth, spaces,overlapping, misshaped teeth, worn teeth, teeth that are too long and too short......the can certainly do a lot of things to improve a smile!Regarding making your dental arches wider, yes they can do that too.However, I would be very careful in expecting that veneers will change the alignment of your lips.  They can certainly give you more lip support, but as far as correcting any lip asymmetry or lip shape problem, don't think so.You may be interested in seeing numerous examples of ladies I have treated that became beauty pageant winners.  I refer you to the web reference below.
