I have porcelain veneers on my two front teeth. I got them about four months ago. Last month, my little brother hit these veneers with a spoon (by mistake). Now I feel like they move slightly. I don't know if they used to be this way before I was hit. The veneers don't visibly move when I touch them. However, if I place a finger on them while biting down, I feel like they move a little (very little). Does this usually happen? I don't see any cracks or feel any pain. Should they be replaced?
Answer: Will veneers come off? Based on what your report, I would not expect your veneers to come off. Generally speaking, veneers should last very, very. I actually include a 10 year guarantee on the veneers that I place, because this is how confident I am that my veneers won't come off or break. I would suggest leaving them alone and watching them closely over time. If you keep checking them with your fingers, you could cause other issues down the road. Good luck and I hope this helps. Answer: Veneers - Can venners be re-bonded? Your first course of action should be to visit with your dentist for an exam to evaluate your exact situation. Yes, it is possible to re-bond a veneer that de-bonds as long as the veneer is intact and without damage. Veneers are very thin facings on the front of teeth that are held in place by an adhesive bond only. Therefore, they are either bonded or they are off. A crown, bridge, or implant could be "loose" but not a true veneer. Based on your description of the trauma it is very likely your tooth is slightly mobile. It is common for slight mobility to improve over time as long as no other complications exist. Again, I would encourage you to visit your dentist whenever you have an issue such as the one you outlined.Another question we typically receive when a patient is concerned about a veneer de-bonding or being damaged is, "how do you remove a damaged veneer?" In the past the only way was to carefully cut it off. Since 2004 we have used an advanced technique that can conservatively remove a veneer using an Erbium YSGG dental laser. This technique will selectively reverse the chemical bond between tooth and porcelain. This technique allows the veneer to be removed without removing any additional tooth structure. A digital scan or traditional impression is made and a new replacement veneer created.Best of luck to you!

Answer: Can veneers be bonded back if they come off? If veneers come off (debond) and are not chipped or broken, they can usually be rebonded back into place. However, veneers don't usually stay on the tooth if the bonding fails. They are either "off" or "on", not generally loose. Thus, I suspect that it your actual tooth that is a bit loose and not the veneer.Should they be replaced? Can't tell you without examining you. I recommend you go back to your dentist, or find a good cosmetic dentist, and he/she should be able to give you the best advice to fit your situation.

Answer: Veneers Veneers can come off for multiple reasons such as inadequate calculation of the the bite, when patients have clenching/ grinding habits , that can loosen the bonding over time although four months seem to bee too short to cause that , or an outside trauma such as in your case (the spoon).. The fact that you don't remember of they were moving before most likely they weren't. If you feel that they move when you bite I recommend that you call your dentist and have them checked, I wouldn't recommend leaving them as is since even minor movement can cause stress cracks and weakened the porcelain over time.. Hope that helps.. Good Luck.
