Mullerectomy changed the look of my face for the worse, now what? (Photo)

Question

I had a Mullerectomy over 3 weeks ago. I feel it has changed and ruined the look of my face. I no longer see myself. The right eye looks small, the skin covers my eyelashes and the left looks "tired." My eyes do not match. I am devastated. I have consulted my Dr., however, he claims it takes 3 months to see results. I have been on numerous sites with pictures a week old and the results are fabulous even with swelling. I know I have been disfigured. Posting for advice. Please advise. Thank you.

Surgeons love the Mullerectomy because the surgery is very straight forward and requires very little patient cooperation.  The photos suggest over correction in the actual right upper eyelid with a fall in the eyebrow.  The left upper eyelid looks like the surgery failed, but you should let the eyelids heal for another 8 weeks before throwing in the towel.  I would advocate massage for the right upper eyelid.  You have a levator disinsertion evident in the preoperative photographs.  In my opinion, the Mullerectomy does not work in these situations.  These are circumstances where I recommend an anterior levator resection ptosis surgery.  The change in position of the brow with what appears to be excess skin is related to the over correction of the right upper eyelid.  This is a compensatory relaxation of the brow.  Please see you surgeon for immediate management of these issues.  If they seem stumped, consider seeking second opinions.

You are still healing from surgery so best to give it 3 months. Also discuss with your surgeon. You may or may not benefit from additional steps.
