Yellow bruising after lower eyelid surgery 4 weeks ago, will this ever go away?

 Thanks so much for reaching out. There can be a large degree of bruising after eyelid surgery. The lower eyelid tends to hold onto bruising longer than many areas of your body. It may take a few more weeks to see complete resolution. I'm sure it will resolve completely given some more time

Bruising can take several weeks to go away in some people.  Lower lids are very vascular so you can sometimes see a lot of bruising with this surgery.  If the bruise is turning yellow then it is almost gone. 

One of the hardest things for us to predict is how much a patient will bruise after surgery.  For some patients, it is barely visible after a week and for others it may take over a month.  Make sure that your surgeon is aware of your concerns.  Sleeping with the head of your bed elevated, using arnica, and staying away from blood thinning medications will help your body to recover more quickly.  Good luck!

It is a bit unusual for it to last this long, but at least it is going away. Everyone is different in terms of how much they bruise.
