What are inferior orbital rim implants?

Hello, I am wondering if some one can explain what an “inferior orbital rim implant” is? What is it used for? It was recommended to me for my flat face. Just curious to know why

Anytime you augmentation the area of the midface below the infraorbital rims of the eye (which is most of the midface) this could be called 'inferior orbital rim' implants'...although that is not a particularly good name. This would be better described as midface or maxillary implants which is ideally made custom for each patient. This generally covers the entire surface of the midface with the intent of pulling out pr creating more forward projection of the midface. Some patients have the entire midface augmented (which includes the infraorbital rims) while others only need the lower or central midface augmented at the premaxillary-paranasal maxillary area around the base of the nose.
