I am planning to have a rhinoplasty, but I have a doctor in mind for alarplasty and another doctor for my bridge augmentation and tipplasty
Answer: Alarplasty maybe performed in the office with local anesthetic. Since you have decided to use two surgeons, it may be best to wait 3 to 6 months after your surgery to see whether or not you still desire an alarplasty. I believe 3 months post-operative would be the earliest, since the nostril skin will be swollen for several months postoperative. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Alarplasty after rhinoplasty Thank you for you question. In general, the decision about how much to narrow the alar base must take into consideration the shape and width of the nasal tip. As the initial swelling after the surgery distort these proportions it is important to allow time for the shape of the nose to settle to a reasonable extent before proceeding to an alarplasty. I have found that at approximately six months after rhinoplasty it is possible to have a reasonable understanding of the projected final outcome although it is not possible to be completely sure. I would suggest waiting for at least six months if not longer to have the alarplasty, to allow your surgeon to make a better decision regarding the balance of the nasal shape and the best outcome they can achieve for you.

Answer: When can I have an alar plasty after my bridge augmentation and a tip plasty There's really no sense in having two different nasal operations performed separately. All the procedures on your nose should be performed together under one anesthesia with one anesthesia and one recovery. Choose your rhinoplasty specialist very carefully based on extensive experience producing natural results. If you're going to perform them separately, should probably separate them out by six months.

Answer: Temperature providers for separate aspects of rhinoplasty It’s probably better to have one provider do all aspects of rhinoplasty surgery. I suggest you schedule consultations with your chosen providers and discuss your options through in person consultations. It does not make sense to have separate procedures for separate aspects of rhinoplasty surgery. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
