Do you have to wait a certain period before revising synechiae of the nostrils?

Do the same rules for revision rhinoplasty apply even though you are just removing synechiae, do you have to wait a year or is a couple of months sufficient? Please advise me, thank you so much

Synechia on the inside of the nose can be lysed  at anytime after the surgical procedure. Best to wait one year  to revise cosmetic component of the nose

Hi there, it really depends on the type of synechia and its location. I typically describe a scar adhesion band as a synechia when it is inside the nose. Most commonly, I see synechia between the septum and the nasal turbinates after nasal surgery (including sinus surgery). These type of scar bands can be released when identified in the early postoperative period (I tend to think the sooner, the better). These scars are different from external scars in the nostrils. The skin and soft tissue in the nose has a different quality and character and to revise those scars I do advise waiting and how long depends on the individual case. A stable and mature scar is easier to control during the healing process to get the desired result. I recommend you consult with your surgeon about your individual case. Hope this helps! Good luck
