Will CO2 Laser remove and/or improve the appearance my chicken pox scar?

Question

When I was 8, I had the habit of scratching the one chicken pox area on my face that left a deep crater. Unfortunately, it left its mark nearly between my eyebrows. Since then, I have been styling my hair with side bangs to reduce and hide its appearance. I am frustrated that I cannot sweep the hair away due to the fact that this scar makes me self conscious. I am hoping any doctors out there can provide recommendations and/or treatments of any kind to reduce and/or remove its appearance.

In my opinion, your chicken pox scar is a depressed saucer-shaped car. Treatment for this type of scar should  include lifting the base. Subcision is the gold standard for lifting scars. Combining subcision with ablative and non-ablative lasers, infini and fillers are reliable modalities. I would avoid any excision of the scar. Find a scar expert. Look at photos. Hope this helps. Treating these scars can be very rewarding, and combining subscision and fractionated laser to release the scar and induce collagen remodelling, followed by a small amount of filler will make a considerable difference.Book in with a specialist if you can.  Best wishes, Shobhan.
