I need to get injections again on my Tear Trough area. I'm back in Canada :( and many doctors I call, say they don't inject Belotero, just Redensity by Teosyal? What is the difference? and Are the results the same? Thank you!
Answer: Improving Under Eye with Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) or Redensity--add Fraxel, Microneedling/PRP Redensity is not FDA approved in the United States. I recommend following up with your injector with your question about differences. These fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Teartrough fillers with Redensity by Teosyal and Belotero Filler treatments for the tear trough area, also known as the lower orbital rim, are designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles and hollows under the eyes. These treatments involve injecting a filler substance into the area to add volume and smooth out the skin. Belotero is a brand of dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps to retain moisture and plump the skin. Belotero is often used for the tear trough area because it is a very fine, flexible filler that can be easily molded to the contours of the skin and is less likely to create lumps or bumps. Redensity by Teosyal is also a dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid. It is specifically formulated for use in the tear trough area and is designed to address the specific needs of this delicate area, including improving the appearance of dark circles and hollowness under the eyes. In terms of the difference between Belotero and Redensity, both are hyaluronic acid fillers and are used for similar purposes. However, Redensity is specifically formulated for use in the tear trough area and may be better suited for this purpose compared to Belotero. It is always best to consult with a qualified healthcare provider to determine the most appropriate treatment for your specific needs and concerns.

Answer: Fillers under eyes / tear troughs As mentioned above, the most important part is the injector. The other two factors I take into consideration or longevity as well as the physical properties of the filler in question. My biggest worry with any filler in this area is propensity for swelling or for the Tyndall effect (blue hue). Personally, I prefer Belotero Balnce for this area. Be sure you consult with a board-certified physician trained and aesthetic procedures for optimal results.

Answer: Belotero Balance is an FDA approved filler that is available in the U.S. Thank you for your question! Belotero Balance is an FDA approved filler that is available in the U.S. where I practice but Redensity is not and so I have no experience with it. I believe the ideal filler for the tear troughs currently available is Restylane. I like to inject the filler into the tear troughs using a blunt tip microcannula to minimize bruising, swelling and risk of vascular injury. Best of luck!
