Is my nipple dying?

In the picture, I do not see anything overly concerning, but this is no guarantee there is not an issue. If you have a nipple that is darkened you should have it examined by your surgeon.  It certainly could be a simple bruise, but the change in color warrants further evaluation.

One must have an in-person exam to evaluate this question.  If you are uncertain, see your surgeon again, or get a second opinion.Always check with your board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person exam.  Hope this is helpful, best of luck!

Unfortunately we cannot make a diagnosis of this type based on a photo. It takes an exam. It sounds like you have been seen by your surgeon and the doctor did not say the tissue was dying. If you do not trust that opinion you should be examined elsewhere.
