Thanks for the question. Actually I advise my patients to stop drinking alcohol, coffee 5-7 days before their liposuction operation also you should stop taking any medications such as Aspirin and Vitamins. Therefore you should consult with your surgeon for a reminder form before surgery. I wish you all the best.
The reason we advise against drinking alcohol before liposuction – or any surgical procedure – is that it can thin the blood, leading to more bleeding and bruising. One glass of beer or wine should have minimal adverse effects, as long as it does not lead to a second glass or more. I recommend avoiding all blood-thinning substances, including herbs like ginger, ginko and the like, for at least two weeks before your liposuction. Liposuction is surgery. Your body must be in its optimal condition so that it can withstand the trauma of the procedure and heal as quickly as possible afterward. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist if you have other questions about how to prepare for and recover from liposuction. You could also explore noninvasive fat-removal procedures such as CoolSculpting, Vanquish and ThermiLift, or a combination of liposuction with ThermiLift (ThermiSculpture).
It is not advisable to drink alcoholic beverages before an upcoming surgery as alcohol can prolong your recovery and could weaken your immune system.
