One of the problems with chin implants is migration or malposition. I would recommend a CT scan to evaluate the position of the implant. In some cases, the implant needs to be removed or re-positioned.

The surgical treatment for lengthening the distance between the lip and chin is called a sliding genioplasty. A chin implant will not provide any length to the chin. A CT will help determine the amount of lengthening required to balance the lower face.
