Does ab etching leave external scars?

Vaser assisted liposuction utilizes ultrasound to emulsify or melt felt prior to removal. It is also used to etch or define the muscles and normal anatomy to enhance the results. I use a specialized technique to remove the deeper fat areas and sculpt the superficial fat, so that one can achieve the goal of having not only a flatter stomach but also a more defined and curvaceous body if wanted. I can use this technique on the arms as well.

I also use the fat removed to graft into the pecs for men or breasts for women as well as into the arms and other areas to further enhance muscle definition.

The best candidates for the procedure already have a good muscular base.The incisions are hidden

Thank you for your questions.  Very small incisions are made on the abdominal wall that usually fade or are imperceptible, but yes there are scars.  Ab etching is a very aggressive form of lipo that removes subcutaneous fat that shows off the abdominal muscles.  Using the etching is usually reserved for men, but women can have high definition lipo as well.  The risks of seroma are higher as this is more aggressive than regular lipo.All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL

Yes, usually abdominal etching is done and excess skin is cut to achieve a flat abdomen.
There is also a technique through which it can be performed by laparoscopy without cutting the skin, however not all patients are candidates for this technique.

During pregnancy, it depends on how much weight you gain. If you gain weight you will gain it somewhere else, not where you had treatment.
