Are natural looking six pack abs a realistic Lipo result for a man with a good starting point? (photo)

Vaser assisted liposuction utilizes ultrasound to emulsify or melt felt prior to removal. It is also used to etch or define the muscles and normal anatomy to enhance the results. I use a specialized technique to remove the deeper fat areas and sculpt the superficial fat, so that one can achieve the goal of having not only a flatter stomach but also a more defined and curvaceous body if wanted. I can use this technique on the arms as well.

I also use the fat removed to graft into the pecs for men or breasts for women as well as into the arms and other areas to further enhance muscle definition.

The best candidates for the procedure already have a good muscular base.

You can get very defined abdominal musculature from liposuction.  I call this a "high definition" procedure and do this quite frequently; it is the bulk of the type of liposuction I do seeing that I treat a lot of younger men.  If you have a good contour and very little fat to begin with, with the right technique using smaller cannulas and sometimes with the addition of laser, you can get a very definied result.  See a few of my photos here and contact me if you are interested in hearing more.  This is not the typical procedure for most liposuction physicians, so if you do chose to go to someone, pick someone who treats a lot of men and women who are already in shape and seeking to obtain more definition and shape from the procedure.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

You very well may not be wrong. Creating a six-pack look on most men is a bit unnatural because of everything around it. The most natural abdominal six-pack look is the one you create yourself. But there are differing degrees of how abdominal etching is done that can make it look more or less unnatural. How many lines are placed and their extensions and how deep they are made all play a role in creating differing levels of the six-pack look. Abdominal etching is a good example of 'less is often better'.

Hello, thank you for your question. Natural results in abdominal etching are possible, but how visible you want your abs to be is questionable. When lipo to the abs is made, your doctor is looking for your skin to contract on top of your abdominal muscles, showing the frame you built. You may have a natural result, but you would never get a six pack like a body builder, that will only come from muscle hypertrophy from workout. You may maximize your result by exercising after the procedure, creating a better core for your contracting skin to show. Hope to have helped you with your question

I am not surprised by your skepticism. In fact, male etching is very technical and requires expertise with the VASER machine and acute knowledge of male musculature.
